About Us

ABOUT US

Barbican Entertainment is a media production company established to produce feature films, drama miniseries and documentaries – for the worldwide film and television markets across cinema, streaming, broadcast and physical distribution.

The company is led by Reg Traviss who has worked in the industry for 25 years. Reg has extensive experience in the financial areas of the business, as a producer (in private equity, tax-rebates and structuring international co-productions) as well as in the primary creative areas, as a writer and director.

As a new company run by seasoned film and television professionals, Barbican has Advance Assurance from HMRC for the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme and can propose to investors an array of tax relief opportunities. Our producers combine many years of production expertise alongside a working knowledge of other sectors, such as

banking, while the team includes qualified sales and distribution management and specialist tax-accountancy.

Barbican is built on the principal of self-reliance; to ensure that its investors are secure, that its content pool is exciting while commercially viable, and that as a production house it is able to nurture new talent.

TAX RELIEF

Barbican’s producers have a long history of working with private investors, securing high

risk equity for film production, and managing revenue streams at the back-end after

completed films have been licensed into the cycles of worldwide sales and distribution.

The company is able to offer prospective investors a variety of regulated tax relief

incentives provided by the UK government, upon the purchasing of shares in Barbican

Entertainment Limited. With its Advanced Assurance from HMRC for the Seed Enterprise

Investment Scheme (SEIS), Barbican is permitted to offer its investors tax relief under

both the SEIS and the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS).

Investors are permitted to invest up to £200,000 per tax-year and are eligible for generous

tax benefits including 50% relief under SEIS and 30% relief under EIS. Investments in the

company are particularly suited to experienced investors and/or those with large Income

Tax or Capital Gains Tax liabilities, who are keen for growth opportunities. Investors who

participate in the scheme can take advantage of the following incentives:

• Income Tax relief

• Capital Gains Tax exemption

• Capital Gains Reduction

• Loss relief

• Reinvestment Relief

• Capital Gains Tax deferral
